Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador to Canada Aleksandar Bogdanić did not pay tribute to fallen Canadian soldiers on Remembrance Day

(Patria) - November 11th is Remembrance Day when Canada pays tribute to all fallen Canadian soldiers in service to their country.

More than 40,000 members of the Canadian Armed Forces served in the mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including 23 members who laid down their lives for Bosnia and Herzegovina during that mission.

This November 11th, tens of thousands of Canadians, along with political, academic, diplomatic, and spiritual leaders of Canada, led by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, paid tribute to fallen Canadian soldiers by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. Ambassadors of all countries accredited in Canada, including ambassadors of all Balkan countries except the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attended the solemn ceremony on behalf of their countries, proudly representing their nations by laying a wreath.

Many citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who attended the ceremony in Canada's capital felt humiliated. The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Bogdanić, refused to attend the ceremony and lay a wreath. All previous ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the ceremony every November 11th and laid a wreath on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Why did only the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina not represent his country this year? How long will the humiliation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the ambassador in Canada be tolerated.

Your undiplomatic action will not harm our Bosnia and Herzegovina much, because its voice is heard in Canada thanks to the Bosnian diaspora.
