US Embassy: Why does the discourse on corruption leave such a strong impression on Dodik?

Today's statements by Milorad Dodik do not warrant a response, says the US Embassy, responding to an inquiry by the BiH news agency Patria (NAP) regarding the statements of the president of the smaller entity.

Namely, Dodik today brutally insulted the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy, Nicholas Hill, in a statement to journalists, calling him a "pathological liar." Dodik reacted this way to Hill's speech last week, which he held at a private faculty in Tuzla.

- We believe that Mr. Dodik's statements today do not warrant a response. The Chargé d'Affaires of the American Embassy gave a speech at the American University in Tuzla on Saturday in which, based on his own experience in the region, he spoke about the problems the country faces, especially corruption.

The US Government and its representatives constantly say that nationalism and corruption are among the biggest problems in BiH, which is why it is interesting that the statements of the Chargé d'Affaires, Mr. Hill, have left such a strong impression on Mr. Dodik and his associates - the US Embassy states.

- Due to the great interest in the country in the problem of corruption, we certainly welcome Mr. Dodik's engagement in this discussion and hope that it will result in more significant efforts to solve this problem - they said, reports NAP.
