SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Ahead of the arrival of US envoy for electoral reform Matthew Palmer and European representative Angelina Eichhorst, the Public Affairs Office of the US Embassy
confirmed to Patria that the US and EU plan to continue this key dialogue.
"We expect Mr. Palmer to return soon, but for any progress, it is necessary that the participants in the negotiations show readiness to find solutions that are in line with EU standards. Efforts related to electoral reform are key to BiH's progress. Now is the time to ensure more democratic, fairer and more transparent elections, without discrimination and less susceptible to divisive and corrupt political interests that serve as an excuse for crisis," they stated in the response.
It is expected that talks between political actors with Palmer and Eichhorst will be held next week, while preparatory talks between party delegations and EU Delegation Head Johann Sattler and US Ambassador Eric Nelson are already underway.
