US Embassy to NAP on 'Dodik's liquidation': Allegations about Escobar are obviously absurd

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Neither before, nor especially after the expanded sanctions that the US imposed on SNSD President Milorad Dodik, does he choose his words when speaking about US officials or High Representative Christian Schmidt.

Dodik has attacked Gabriel Escobar, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, several times, and in the last few days he has even mentioned Americans twice in the context of his liquidation.

The first time was on the day OFAC announced new sanctions against Dodik for corruption, and the second time yesterday at a press conference in Banja Luka.

“I expect the Americans to kill me next, to execute me. So I want to tell the public that if that happens, the Americans did it with the assistance of the British,” Dodik said on January 5.

And yesterday he made a direct accusation against Escobar.

"I know that Escobar and I think the man has the potential to order someone to be liquidated," Dodik said. 

We also requested the US Embassy's position on these accusations.

“The allegations made yesterday by BiH Presidency member Dodik regarding Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Escobar are obviously absurd,” stated the US Embassy's Office of Public Affairs.

Dodik thus described the High Representative as a loser, a foreigner, illegitimate, a swindler, that he does not exist, that he is falsely representing himself...
