US Embassy in BiH calls on authorities to investigate incidents

(Patria) - The United States is deeply concerned by reports of hate speech, glorification of war criminals and provocative incidents targeting returnees in the Republika Srpska over the past weekend, the US Embassy in BiH told Federalna.ba.

The US Embassy called on the competent authorities to conduct an investigation into these incidents without delay and to hold the perpetrators accountable.

- The sustainable return of displaced persons is an important aspect of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina are obliged to ensure that returnees live in a safe and secure environment, free from harassment and intimidation - stated the Public Affairs Office of the US Embassy.

Let us recall, last weekend the unconstitutional day of January 9 was marked in the RS, and throughout this entity incidents, provocations and insults were recorded against citizens of non-Serb ethnicity and Bosniaks.
