US Embassy: Bishop's visit is proof of support for BiH's sovereignty and strong security cooperation

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - We welcome the visit of CIA Deputy Director Vaughn Bishop, who focused on the strong partnership between the United States and BiH in the fight against terrorism, crime and corruption, and the continued support of the United States for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, the US Embassy said on Twitter.

"Strong, capable and adequately trained institutions at all levels of government, including border police, foreign affairs and SIPA, are necessary to keep the citizens of BiH safe and secure. The assistance of the United States prioritizes respect for fundamental freedoms, as well as cooperation between BiH security institutions at the state, entity and local levels, each of which has specific competencies," the US Embassy said.

They add that cooperation between institutions within BiH is key.

"That cooperation is key to BiH's success in addressing global, regional and national threats. The United States is committed to deepening our security cooperation, both bilaterally and through NATO, to ensure security for all citizens of our countries," the Embassy concluded.
