US Embassy: We pay tribute to all civilian victims of Prijedor who were tortured, imprisoned and killed by VRS members

(Patria) - The US Embassy paid tribute to all killed civilian victims of Prijedor on White Ribbon Day. In a post on X, they state:

"Today, on White Ribbon Day, we remember and pay tribute to all civilian victims from Prijedor and the surrounding area who were tortured, imprisoned, and killed by members of the Republika Srpska Army during the 1992-1995 war.

We call on authorities at all levels to foster reconciliation by promoting acceptance of judicially established facts about the 1992-1995 war, paying tribute to all civilian victims, providing assistance to survivors, enabling long-overdue commemoration, and seeking justice," the post states.

Today, on #DanBijelihTraka we remember and pay respects to all civilian victims from Prijedor and the surrounding area who were tortured, imprisoned, and killed by elements of the Republika Srpska Army during the 1992-1995 war.

In Prijedor, a memorial gathering will be held today organized by the initiative "Jer me se tiče" and participants will lay 102 flowers for 102 killed children in Prijedor.

City authorities have for years refused to grant permission to build a memorial for the 102 killed children.
