US Embassy sends new message to parliamentarians: Support BiH citizens or vote for Russia

(Patria) - The Embassy of the United States of America in BiH has again spoken ahead of the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, sending a clear message that the law on the Southern Interconnection must be passed.

In a new press release, the US Embassy stated that parliamentarians must make a critical decision.

"When representatives of the Parliament of FBiH attend today's session, they must make a critical decision that affects not only the present but also all future generations in BiH. The new Law on the Southern Interconnection (SIC) is a law for the citizens of BiH. This project will strengthen regional energy security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkans by ending BiH's complete dependence on Russian gas, a dependence that exposes the country and its citizens to political and economic blackmail," they said.

Also, it was stated that parliamentarians will have a clear choice today.

"The Law on the Southern Interconnection will also provide access to a reliable source of energy that will create jobs, help businesses grow, and generate prosperity for the entire Federation of BiH, especially for communities in Herzegovina. Representatives have a clear choice - support the citizens of BiH and their future prosperity or vote for Russia and its interests," they concluded.
