US Embassy after protests: We support freedom of expression and the right of citizens to peaceful assembly

(Patria) - Today, a group of citizens held protests across from the US Embassy in Sarajevo regarding the current political situation in our country.

The US Embassy commented on this matter via its official Twitter profile.

"The US is aware of the protests held in front of the embassy. We support freedom of expression and the right of citizens to peaceful assembly. The opinions of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina are very important to us. The embassy is closed today due to a holiday: we remain ready to talk with concerned citizens. We also encourage leaders to work on building a stable and prosperous future, unburdened by corruption, which citizens deserve.

Our commitment to BiH, as well as our policy towards BiH, remains firm. The US supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, a multi-ethnic and democratic state. We continue to promote dialogue among leaders and work with our partners to provide support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to a Euro-Atlantic future," stated the US Embassy.
