US Embassy: We expressed concern for the well-being of flood victims

The Embassy of the United States of America issued a statement today regarding the published blog by American diplomats David Barth and Scott Miller, which provoked reactions from BiH politicians who literally attacked these two diplomats, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- Our recently published blog stated that elected officials should do more to respond to the consequences of devastating floods and landslides. The goal of the blog was to express our concern for the well-being of the victims of these natural disasters who are, for the most part, left to their own devices, and winter is approaching. Every citizen deserves safety, security, food, and shelter. This text has produced numerous discussions and debates from all sides on this important topic. This kind of dynamic discourse is crucial for a healthy democratic system. We believe that the political establishment – at all levels, in power or not – should do more to work together to solve the range of problems caused by these unprecedented floods. While we encourage citizens to go to the polls in October, we do not support any specific candidate or party - it was stated, reports Patria.
