Embassy of BiH in Berlin: RTRS cites non-existent media

(Patria) - Regarding the RTRS report titled "World Media: Republika Srpska Guardian of Peace and the Dayton Accord" in which this entity public broadcaster cites texts allegedly from German media "Neue Berliner Zeitung" and "Frankfurter Handelsblatt", the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Berlin informs the public that such media outlets do not exist.

On the contrary, the texts cited by RTRS were published on the websites (Startseite - Neue Berliner Zeitung and Home - Frankfurter Handelsblatt, which were registered only on January 25th of this year by the company "Tamani LTD" in Basel, Switzerland. The websites have an almost identical design and content, and do not include basic information characteristic of German media, such as an imprint, physical address, and the like.

Moreover, the very fact that the text RTRS refers to is full of obvious falsehoods indicates that it is not a media outlet in this country, especially considering the extensive and above all objective reporting of German media on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ambassador of BiH in Berlin, Damir Arnaut, adds that "these amateur attempts, however, are not concerning from the perspective of potential influence on German public opinion. Such a possibility neither exists nor is it the goal of the manipulators behind these texts. Their primary task is to convince the public in Republika Srpska that attacks on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina have the support of 'world media.' Given that such operations are not cheap, they are literally spending the money of the citizens of Republika Srpska to disseminate such falsehoods to them," emphasizes Ambassador Arnaut.

He further adds that "the Embassy notes that this is a carefully and long-prepared operation, given that the mentioned websites began publishing texts in January concerning the political, cultural, and sports scene of Germany, with the aim of creating the illusion that they are established media outlets before the start of the current campaign to justify attacks on the constitutional order of BiH.

These texts were typically copied, or rather stolen, from real media outlets they are trying to imitate, including the unauthorized use of their emblems or logos, such as Berliner Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. The Embassy will therefore forward all this information to these media outlets, as well as to the competent law enforcement agencies in the Federal Republic of Germany, with the aim of stopping this hybrid war against Bosnia and Herzegovina and punishing the perpetrators," concludes Arnaut.
