Amar Osim to move to Qatar

Football Club Željezničar's Sports Director, Amar Osim, accepted the offer from Qatar's Al-Kharaitiyat during talks held in Doha and will soon take over their first team, it was announced by FK Željezničar, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Osim was born in Sarajevo, and as a player, he played for FK Željezničar, French clubs Saint-Dié and Strasbourg. After a five-year career in France, he returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina where he played one more season for FK Željezničar before retiring from his professional playing career.

COACHING CAREER

It began at FK Željezničar in 2001, and a few years later he went to Japan as an assistant to his father, Ivica Osim, at JEF United, where after the departure of Osim Sr., he became the head coach.

In 2009, Amar Osim once again became the coach of FK Željezničar, with whom he won the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the same season, 2009/2010. Later, he became the sports director, and he was also one of the candidates for the selector position, being in the final shortlist.
