Almir Terzić for NAP: Federation of BiH will not have a stable parliamentary majority until the end of the mandate

No serious person expected the new coalition in the Federation of BiH, with small parties such as SBiH, BPS, and the Party of Democratic Activity (A-SDA) to last long – analyst Almir Terzić said in an interview with the news agency Patria, commenting on the announcement by the leaders of SBiH who late Tuesday afternoon announced their withdrawal from the coalition signed with SDA, A-SDA, and BPS parties at the end of July this year.

The newly formed coalition did not last even two weeks before it fell apart. Media reported that SBiH left the newly formed coalition because this party did not get to manage Elektroprivreda BiH, although such an agreement was reached when the coalition was formed at the end of July.

SDA Secretary General Amir Zukić announced that he will try to resolve disagreements with SBiH, but also talk with some other potential coalition partners in the federal government, so that, ultimately, citizens do not suffer.

However, the new situation in FBiH, Terzić warns, is just another proof that all coalitions in BiH are formed exclusively on an interest basis, and not on the basis of what is called the division of responsibilities, which, it seems, politicians most often shy away from. Even if the new coalition holds, or a new one is formed, it will bring nothing good to the citizens of this country.

- Such a fact and such a situation generates a constant crisis in the Federation of BiH, which will certainly last until the end of this mandate – said Terzić.

- We certainly will not have a stable parliamentary majority all this time. In general, this shows us that society in BiH has reached a breaking point, and that the interests of certain political groups, or even individuals, are exclusively considered in relation to what are the general interests of the citizens. Now we can, quite certainly, talk about the dominance of the interests of individuals and groups over the general interest of society, specifically over the state.

For who knows how many times, Terzić warns, it has been shown that small political options with one to three or four representatives are extremely unserious. Their goal is to gain political positions in order to accommodate their cadres and to secure budget funding for their political groups and parties.

- Bosnia and Herzegovina has been in a constant crisis since the principle of participation of small political options was introduced – believes Terzić, reminding that every parliamentary majority that depends on the vote of one representative is subject to manipulation. We saw this, he says, in the "papak affair" in RS, as well as during the adoption of the new Labor Law in FBiH.

It is not good for BiH, Terzić warns, for a coalition to be composed of too many parties, especially not those parties that have received little voter support, writes NAP.
