Almir Mirojević accused of taking money for employment at KCUS

The Department for Economic Crime of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton has gathered sufficient evidence after an investigation and filed an indictment against Almir Mirojević, an employee at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS) for committing the criminal offense of unlawful mediation under Article 382, Paragraph 3, in conjunction with Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), all in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office announced, reports the BH News Agency Patria. 

- The accused is charged that in the period from around March 7, 2014, to May 12, 2014, and in the period from September 16, 2014, to September 25, 2014, as an employee of KCUS, using his acquaintances with influential employees of the Clinical Center acquired through long-term work experience, aware of the illegality of his actions and intending to commit them, he used his influential position and contacted an employee of the Clinical Center on several occasions and arranged a service of mediation in the employment of her son at the same institution, for which he took and received money.

Thus, using his influential position in the institutions of the Federation, he mediated to perform an official act that should not have been performed, and for the commission of this criminal offense, a reward was received, thereby committing the criminal offense of Unlawful Mediation under Article 382, Paragraph 3, in conjunction with Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of FBiH, all in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code of FBiH.

The Municipal Court in Sarajevo confirmed the indictment and scheduled a hearing for the accused to enter a plea on December 22, 2014.
