
Alija Isaković is a Bosniak cultural worker - novelist, short story writer, radio drama, television and drama writer, travel writer, aphorist, lexicographer and historian of language and literature. He was born on January 15, 1932, and died on March 14, 1997.
Isaković attended primary and secondary school in Bitunja, Stolac, then in Zagreb, Crikvenica, Pančevo and Belgrade, and the Faculty of Philosophy - Yugoslav Literature and "Serbo-Croatian language", in Sarajevo.
He prepared several works by Muslim writers and especially the first anthology of Muslim literature "Biserje" in 1972, the first selection of Bosnian-Herzegovinian travel writers "Hodoljublje" in 1973, the collection of works "Hasanaginica, 1774-1974.", Nasrudin-hodža's anecdotes in 1984, and with Hadžem Hajdarević, a selection from the magazine "Behar" from 1900-1911.
He was awarded for his prose and dramatic works, and many literary analysts compare him to his predecessor, Safvet-beg Bašagić.
