Alibašić: FIFA fines racism with 30,000 KM, but such amounts cannot be collected in BiH!

At the match between Banja Luka's Borac and Mostar's Velež in the last round of the autumn part of the BiH Premier League championship, there was racist chanting and shouts from Borac fans „Kill, kill the Turk“, writes the Patria news agency.

The fans wanted to pay tribute in this far from exemplary way to the murdered Red Star fan Marko Ivković in Istanbul, but it all turned into fascist shouts from the stands of the Banja Luka stadium. 

A group of fans first displayed a banner "Marko, Serb, rest in peace", and shortly after began chanting: "Kill, kill the Turk".

A session of the Disciplinary Commission of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held on Wednesday, and the topic of the session will also be this scandalous behavior of Borac fans.

Meho Alibašić, president of the Disciplinary Commission of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, told the Patria news agency that they must wait for reports in order to take a position on this event. However, FIFA has clear penalties when it comes to racist chanting, and the provision states that a fine of 30,000 KM is imposed.

It is true that FIFA punishes such cases with 30,000 KM, but here it is not like that, because such amounts are difficult to collect. I think the fine will probably be 4,000 to 5,000 KM – says Alibašić.
