Alarming situation: BiH could soon be left without gas!

The debts of the Cantonal company Sarajevogas to BH-Gas continue to grow. On the other hand, BH-Gas cannot pay its gas supplier Gazprom, which creates a risk that everyone will be left without gas, BH-Gas announced, reports the Patria News Agency.

- Given that BH-Gas, as a socially responsible company, does not want to stop the supply of gas to its largest consumer, Sarajevogas, due to non-payment, in agreement with Sarajevogas, the supply to this company has been reduced by 30 percent," the statement said.

For now, Sarajevogas is reducing its consumer, Toplane-Sarajevo, which has partially switched to alternative fuels.

- However, the Government of Sarajevo Canton has given its consent and provided funds with which Toplane will continue to purchase alternative fuels. This causes damage to BH-Gas, and their direct supplier Sarajevogas, because the debts remain, and the money is directed to liquid fuels that further pollute the air in Sarajevo," the statement added.

They point out that Sarajevogas and Toplane-Sarajevo have over 95 percent collection from their consumers.

- We wonder why the Government of Sarajevo Canton is additionally purchasing alternative fuels, and avoiding paying for the consumed gas, which BH-Gas has duly and in sufficient quantities supplied to Sarajevogas. With these irresponsible decisions of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, BH-Gas finds itself in an even more unfavorable position, which forces this company to initiate additional legal measures," the statement said.
