(Patria) - If the victim forgets the destruction of the bridge of peace, they are condemned to repeat the aggression and genocide, emphasized Emir Ramić from the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada.

"From the urbanicide of Mostar, humanity still has the opportunity to draw a historical lesson and message, and ensure a better future for all of us, although the destruction of the bridge of peace, generated by extreme Croatian nationalism and attempted to be inaugurated by the Herceg Bosna para-state on the bones of murdered victims, has unfortunately shown a huge negative experience.

Precisely because of this, today more than ever, when crimes against humanity and international law exist in the world, it is necessary to form and strengthen historical awareness of the urbanicide of Mostar, which requires us to preserve memory and prosecute all those responsible for the terrible destruction of the monument of peace.

It is the sacred task of intellectuals and the responsibility of researchers to scientifically investigate the urbanicide of Mostar, on which truth is based and the space for all and any current and potential falsifications, manipulations, and lies is maximally narrowed. We have a sacred duty to prevent the reawakening of terrifying criminal spirits.

Denial of the urbanicide of Mostar is a radically inhuman and absolutely insidious concept. Therefore, we call on all friends of truth and justice, all fighters for the protection of human rights and freedoms to take action against the denial of the urbanicide of Mostar. Not because of hatred, but because of the successful suppression of all forms of discrimination and oppression, in order to show the world that the criminal has no chance.

We advocate for human rights and human dignity by fighting against the denial of the urbanicide of Mostar," stated Ramić, director of the Institute for the Research of Genocide Canada.
