At the beginning of February, in the second semester of the current school year, free gymnastics school continues for students from first to fifth grade from 11 elementary schools in the area of the Centar municipality and will last until the end of May 2015, reports the Patria news agency.

This is a project that has been funded for many years by the Centar Municipality, and implemented by the Public Institution ''Center for Sports and Recreation''.

Free gymnastics classes for elementary school students, under the expert guidance of physical and health education teachers, are held in the sports hall of Sarajevo's FIS (Mis Irbina 10) twice a week - Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 to 10 AM and from 2 to 3 PM.

Interested students can apply through their elementary schools or by calling the Center for Sports and Recreation at: 268-760.

During the first semester, from October 7 to December 30, 2014, 57 students attended the gymnastics school. In that period, 50 hours of classes were held.

From the budget of the Centar Municipality, 5,700 KM was allocated for the implementation of this project, which, in addition to the organized inclusion of as many children as possible in sports activities, aims to contribute to the most proper and harmonious physical development of children through gymnastics exercises on the floor and apparatus, and to prevent spinal deformities that can occur due to prolonged sitting at school desks, the Centar Municipality announced.
