If DF leaves the government, it is questionable with whom SDA and HDZ will build a majority

In the next four years, the scenario from 2010 to 2014 and political turbulence could repeat in FBiH, believes Vehid Šehić, political analyst and president of the Forum of Citizens of Tuzla, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

He states that even after these elections, it is clear that the politics and agreement among most political parties is the division of spoils, ministerial positions, functions in public companies, all of which slows down BiH as a state.

- We have an example in RS where they quickly completed the formation of government and within the deadlines of the Election Law, while in FBiH neither the Election Law, the FBiH Constitution, nor the BiH Constitution are respected. There is no constitutional patriotism; we are entering a difficult situation, and it is made more difficult because we are in a severe economic crisis that inevitably leads to a social crisis - explains Šehić.

Šehić is of the opinion that politicians have no answer to socio-economic challenges and that they are afraid of the future, which may be one of the reasons why there is no policy of will and trust among them.

- We are entering a period where a certain degree of citizen revolt can be expected. Because the payment of pensions and budget obligations to beneficiaries will come into question. There is great dissatisfaction throughout BiH. As far as I can see, there is no program for exiting the crisis - says Šehić.

On the other hand, he points out that the greatest responsibility lies with those who received the trust of the citizens.

- We see that DF has its principles from which it does not want to deviate. If they want to remain in government, they will have to break those principles, and we also see the official stance of the party leadership that they will not participate in the future government if certain agreed and principled things are not respected. If DF were to leave this coalition, the question arises with whom to further build that parliamentary majority. So FBiH is currently in a very difficult situation, which also shows the irresponsibility of politicians, explains Šehić.

Šehić emphasizes that in the whole story, one should not forget HDZ BiH, without which government cannot be formed.

- I must note that SDA and HDZ BiH are bound by a declaration when, as national parties, they signed and committed to fulfilling certain conditions together with HDZ 1990, PDP, and SDS, and there is a strong influence of the international community. At this moment, the coalition between SDA and HDZ BiH is stronger than between SDA and DF or HDZ and DF. How efficient the government will be is difficult to predict. It is difficult to be a prophet in BiH knowing the political situation - concluded Šehić.
