MUP TK Operation: BiH Armed Forces Member Arrested for Drug Trafficking

(Patria) - Members of the MUP of Tuzla Canton arrested Asif Džananović (34) and Luka Kurtalić (30), in an operation conducted in Tuzla and Kalesija, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs.

Džananović is a member of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Istraga.ba has learned.

The Police Administration of the MUP TK announced that during the operation, cars, a motorcycle, firearms with ammunition, a large amount of money, a powdery substance resembling drugs, a digital scale, mobile phones, and other items were found and temporarily confiscated.

The MUP TK operation lasted for months and was named after Luka Kurtalić. A police ID from Serbia was found with him.

Hitman and former Red Berets member Predrag Ratković, whom the MUP TK arrested in August last year, previously hid with Luka Kurtalić, Istraga.ba has learned.

Ratković was definitively sentenced to 16 years in prison by the Court of Appeal in Belgrade in March 2024 for murder.

The suspects are being held at the detention facilities of the Police Administration of the MUP TK, and after criminal processing, they will be handed over to the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton along with a report.
