FUP Operation: Searches at Multiple Locations, Former Management of Autoceste FBiH Targeted

(Patria) - The Federal Police Administration (FUP) has been conducting an operation since this morning, involving searches of residential properties of former management members of Autoceste Federacije BiH.

One of them is the former director of this company, Elmedin Voloder. Searches are being conducted at multiple locations in Sarajevo, Žepče, and Orašje.

The operation is being carried out by the FUP, specifically the Department for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption.

The operation is being conducted based on a report filed by the Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, who stated in his report that land was purchased from three owners for approximately 36,000 KM on one section of the highway in Žepče. A month or two later, the same land was sold to Autoceste FBiH for 460,000 KM. He questioned how it was possible for the land's value to increase more than tenfold in such a short period, and how the buyers knew the highway route would pass through that area while the rest of the public and landowners did not, leading them to sell their land so cheaply.

"Therefore, we have reason to suspect that this involves the trading of privileged information, where a certain person or group of people either influence the project or simply obtain information about where the highway will pass, and then purchase those locations from the owners for a small amount. This clearly involves defrauding these people, who are likely in need if they are selling their land. The criminal group then sells this land to Autoceste FBiH for ten times the price. I am asking the Federal Police Administration to review the entire route and check everything," Nikšić stated.
