Akar: Turkey cares not only for its own peace but also for the peace of friendly and brotherly countries like BiH

(Patria) - Turkish Minister of Defense, Hulusi Akar, visited the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) with his delegation. He was the guest of honor and keynote speaker at a conference on current geopolitical issues in the world.

The political unity and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina are extremely important, Akar believes, not only for the region but for the entire world. The minister described the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey as friendly and brotherly. He also stated that Turkey attaches great importance to the stability of the entire Balkans and always plays a constructive role, being aware of the strategic importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Balkans. In addition, the minister emphasized the importance of education as one of the most crucial foundations for building a better future.

The minister stressed that Turkey's current efforts are focused on building a more just world and fighting terrorism. He said that terrorism is one of the biggest challenges facing the world. Minister Akar called on friends and allies to support Turkey in its fight against terrorist organizations, stating that Turkey's sole objective is to suppress terrorism.

Minister Akar also spoke about current geopolitical issues in the world. Turkey has provided significant support in maintaining peace and stability in numerous countries such as Syria, Azerbaijan, Libya, and Afghanistan. In the recent turmoil in the Eastern Mediterranean, Turkey has shown its pursuit of a peaceful resolution of issues due to its friendly ties with its neighbor, Greece.

In conclusion, the Minister stated that Turkey is not a threat to any country. He noted that Turkey has no aspirations towards any country and emphasized that his country is capable of defending its interests and rights. Akar concluded his speech by saying that Turkey cares not only for its own peace but also for the peace and stability of friendly and brotherly countries like Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The conference was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to BiH Sadık Babur Girgin, the Minister of Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Education in the Sarajevo Canton Naida Hota-Muminović, the President of the Sarajevo Education Development Foundation Hasan Topaloğlu, the Rector of IUS Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yıldırım, and many other distinguished guests.
