Ajanović and Hakalović handed over to KS Prosecutor's Office, prosecutor to decide on further measures after questioning

(Patria) - Suspects Muhamed Ajanović and Dalila Hakalović have been handed over to the jurisdiction of the KS Prosecutor's Office. After being questioned by the acting prosecutor, within the legal deadline of 24 hours, decisions will be made on further measures towards the suspects, it was announced by the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.

Ajanović is the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Sarajevo, and Hakalović is the chief education inspector of the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs.

Muhamed Ajanović is accused of committing the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, receiving a reward or other benefit for trading in influence, while Dalila Hakalović is accused of committing the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, both suspects acting as co-perpetrators.

Also, the investigation includes the Minister of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of KS Adna Mesihović and the Assistant Minister Dženita Viteškić, who are accused of the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.

The subject of the investigation by the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton relates to several actions undertaken by Muhamed Ajanović together with Dalila Hakalović, Adna Mesihović, and Dženita Viteškić, in order to secure an illegal extension of his mandate, and then to use his friendly connections with Mesihović, Viteškić, and Hakalović, in order to secure the adoption of the necessary opinions and instructions from the Ministry, which allowed him not to announce a competition for the election of the dean and to remain in office, until the amendments and additions to the Statute of the University of Sarajevo were adopted, which would enable him new mandate functions as dean.
