Public Procurement Agency Welcomes Adoption of Anti-Corruption Laws

(Patria) - The Public Procurement Agency welcomes the fact that the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has taken a strong step forward in the fight against corruption by adopting amendments to the Law on Public Procurement and the Criminal Code of BiH.

We congratulate the proposers on their courage and persistence, and we express our respect to all who supported this greatest anti-corruption reform in recent years.

The adopted laws protect every citizen in our country, public money, health, and represent a strong blow against corruption that has been undermining the system for years.

It is now clear: no more small fines and hiding behind procedures. Those who intend to steal in tenders go to prison! Arrogance and greed will be paid for with freedom! We call on the House of Peoples to adopt these laws as soon as possible, reminding that every day without these laws benefits thieves!

We particularly welcome the introduction of accountability for the Public Procurement Agency and the Office for Consideration of Appeals, which will further ensure the professionalism, independence, and integrity of these institutions.

All honest members of the professional community have no reason to fear. Fear, both for contracting authorities and bidders, is reserved only for thieves.

We call on all people involved in public procurement to familiarize themselves with the texts of these two laws after the accepted suggestions and amendments, and not to allow themselves to be misinformed and manipulated by people whose sole aim is for nothing to change and for tenders to continue to be rigged “with impunity”.
