Afera "Papak": Was the recording of mandate holder Cvijanović and her sister-in-law about buying MPs not even verified!?

Did the Republika Srpska police even verify the infamous audio recording on which the voice of the mandate holder for the formation of the RS Government, Željka Cvijanović, can be heard talking about buying MPs' votes?

Although only a few days after Cvijanović, or rather SNSD, reported this case to the MUP of RS, which became known in public as the "Papak affair", it was quickly announced by this police agency that the recording was manipulated, writes the BH news agency Patria.  

However, the latest statement by the director of RS police, Gojko Vasić, who said that "at this moment it is not important whether the verification of the recording has been carried out, but that the competent prosecutor's office will request that the verification be carried out by domestic experts, as well as their colleagues from abroad", is enough to openly suspect that there was no investigation in the "Papak affair" at all, and that the public was misled.  

Hence, the announcement from the MUP of November 18 is unbelievable, stating that on November 15, on a certain number of electronic media, a "manipulated, compromising recording of a private conversation of the Prime Minister of RS was published, recorded with special technical, sophisticated means for audio and video recording, from which individual statements of the Prime Minister were taken out of context and combined with other statements, thus creating a derived, apparent real conversation between the Prime Minister and an 'unknown person' - the interlocutor".

The public has raised the justified question of how the MUP of RS came to the conclusion that the recording was manipulated and an "apparent conversation" was created if there was no verification.

Vasić's statement, which indirectly confirms that there was no verification at all, justifiably fuels suspicions that, in order to protect the ruling structures, i.e. Milorad Dodik and SNSD, everything was done, even using the police, to hide the fact that the parliamentary majority was indeed formed by buying MPs.

Hence, the criminal complaint filed by NDP leader Dragan Čavić against Željka Cvijanović and unknown persons for bribery, i.e. buying MPs, which is a criminal offense, is entirely justified.

The MUP of RS reacted with lightning speed to the request of SNSD, and judging by Vasić's statement, misled the public by claiming the recording was manipulated, while Čavić's complaint will most likely gather dust in some drawer.

As a reminder, at the height of the "Papak affair", Patria published the information that the second female voice on the recording belongs to Nataša Cvijanović, an employee of the Ministry of Education of RS, and the mandate holder's sister-in-law. To this day, no one has denied it.
