Sarajevo Airport to Soon Get a Prayer Room

By the end of April, the Management of Sarajevo International Airport is expected to move into a new administrative building, and the existing one will be turned into Terminal 1 for low-cost flights, confirmed for the Patria News Agency Ivica Veličan, General Director of Sarajevo International Airport.

Also, due to the great need and frequent requests from passengers whether they can perform prayers while waiting for their flights, the airport management has decided to create a so-called prayer room in the old administration building, which is currently available at Vienna Airport in Europe.

- We have had several requests for a prayer room, so we will see how much space will be left for the prayer room once we build Terminal 1. We are certainly trying to provide passengers with quality and a good experience – Veličan said.

Regarding the information that Sarajevo is the only city in Europe without a bus line on the Airport - city center route, Veličan said that even in Zagreb, the abolition of this line is being considered.

- Firstly, it is not within the Airport's jurisdiction. These are usually operated by national companies, but Sarajevo Airport is so close to the city center that this line is not profitable, but we are open to carriers and even offer them a free bus stop – Veličan added.
