Bar Association of Sarajevo Canton officially notified: Dubravko Čampara is not worthy to be a lawyer

(Patria) - Former state prosecutor Dubravko Čampara for years concealed a statement in which criminal Darko Ostojić confessed to attempting to kill Sarajevo lawyer Senad Kreho.

The statement was hidden until the relative statute of limitations for criminal prosecution of Darko Ostojić expired.

Evidence of Čampara's concealment of Ostojić's confession was submitted to the Bar Association of Sarajevo Canton (KS) by Kreho's legal representative Damir Beglerović.

"Considering that I have information that Mr. Dubravko Čampara has submitted a request for entry into the register of lawyers, it is my duty as a member of the Regional Bar Association Sarajevo to inform you of the reasons for his unworthiness to be a lawyer, given that he is a person who acted against the interests of the legal profession as an independent professional activity, all in accordance with Article 3, point 11 of the Code of Legal Ethics.

Acting as attorney for the injured colleague lawyer Senad Kreho, who served for years as president of the Regional Bar Association Sarajevo, as well as a long-standing member of the Management Board of the Regional Bar Association Sarajevo, and a long-standing lawyer, and all acting in case number T09 0 KTN 0026842 16 for attempted murder under Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in conjunction with Article 28 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which case Senad Kreho was attacked by an unknown person, and which attack was caused by the performance of legal activities and provision of defense in criminal cases where the attacker had opposing interests.

Considering that the order to conduct an investigation was issued on September 15, 2011, before the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo, and that the case was taken over by the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which case was returned to the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo on August 16, 2023, the acting prosecutor before the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was Dubravko Čampara.

Upon learning that in the file of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina number T20 0 KTA 0007592 13, there is a statement of the suspect Darko Ostojić who, in the presence of his defense counsel on November 18, 2013, confessed to committing the criminal offense, a request was submitted for the provision of information to both the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton.

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton provided a notification that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina had never submitted such a statement to them, so the injured party was asked to provide it.

From the information of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton dated December 15, 2023, it is evident that the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of KS in 2023, as the last action they performed, obtained the record of the examination of the suspect Darko Ostojić from November 18, 2013, along with a CD.

Namely, considering all the above, it is evident that Mr. Dubravko Čampara, for reasons known to him, removed the statement of the examination of the suspect in the above-mentioned case, and submitted such evidence only upon the request of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, and after the relative statute of limitations had expired, all in order to protect the suspect.

Through his actions, he clearly acted contrary to the interests of the legal profession and the interests of a member of the Regional Bar Association Sarajevo, and due to his actions, he is not worthy to perform the legal profession," it is stated in the letter submitted to the Regional Bar Association Sarajevo.

As can be seen from this document, Darko Ostojić confessed that the murder of lawyer Kreho was ordered by former SIPA member Bojan Cvijan.

Čampara, however, removed this statement from the file and did not submit it to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo, which took over the criminal prosecution, until 2023.

We remind you that the attack on lawyer Kreho occurred on September 8, 2011, at the "Pravda" cafe in Radićeva Street in Sarajevo, when the attacker approached him with a gun in his hand and with the intention of shooting him.

After the trigger failed, the attacker hit Kreho on the back of the head with the gun handle and fled.

In November 2013, SIPA members arrested Darko Ostojić on suspicion of attempting to kill lawyer Senad Kreho.

After being deprived of his liberty, Ostojić confessed before prosecutor Čampara that he had committed this criminal offense.

An indictment was never filed against him, and the statement given in the presence of defense counsel was hidden for more than a decade.
