Potogija's Lawyer for NAP: All defendants in the Bosna case will defend themselves from freedom

The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo granted the appeal of the defendants' lawyers in the Bosna case and made a decision that all of them will be released from custody and defend themselves from freedom, reports the Patria agency.

Senad and Nedžad Trako, Ramiz Karavdić, and Safet Bibić were released from custody last night.

Emir Potogija, the lawyer for the accused Nedžad Trako, confirmed to the Patria agency that his client was released and assessed the court's decision as the only correct one.

- This is the only expected and possible decision of the court. My client and other defendants were held in custody for too long. The justification in my client's case was that he could repeat the criminal offense he is accused of while at liberty, which is practically impossible - Potogija told NAP.

Lawyer Potogija emphasized that he expects the continuation of the trial to proceed as planned, and he is convinced that the outcome will be an acquittal.

We remind you that the indictment charges Amir Zukić, Safet Bibić, Nedžad and Senad Trako, and Ramiz Karavdić with conspiracy to commit criminal offenses related to receiving a reward or other benefit for trading in influence and illegal mediation.

The indictment stated that Zukić and Bibić organized a group in 2016, which was joined by Nedžad and Senad Trako and Karavdić, who found people willing to pay money for employment in the branches of Elektrodistribucija, which belongs to JP Elektroprivreda BiH. After that, using their influence through Esed Džananović, the then director of Elektrodistribucija, who is accused of abuse of office, illegal employment was carried out.

The same indictment charges Asim Sarajlić and Mirsad Kukić, vice-presidents of SDA, with receiving a reward or other benefit for trading in influence, while Zukić is also charged with illegal possession of weapons.

By the decision of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, all defendants will now defend themselves from freedom, and previously, Amir Zukić's driver, Seid Fazlagić, pleaded guilty in an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office and was sentenced to eight months in prison.

Otherwise, the Bosna operation in which Džananović, Trako, and Karavdić were arrested was carried out in August 2016, and Zukić and Fazlagić were arrested in February 2017.
