Lawyer Mirsad Crnovršanin physically attacked, car set on fire

(Patria) - Lawyer Mirsad Crnovršanin was physically attacked in Sarajevo yesterday, and a car owned by him was set on fire on the same day, the Regional Bar Association of Sarajevo announced today.

- The Regional Bar Association of Sarajevo strongly condemns this attack and demands an urgent reaction from the competent authorities: to activate all available capacities without delay and direct them towards a complete clarification of the case - it is stated in the announcement.

They emphasize that the attack on lawyer Crnovršanin "most clearly shows the circumstances under which lawyers in Bosnia and Herzegovina perform their professional activities".

- This is just the latest in a series of attacks on lawyers in our country. The safety of lawyers, as well as all holders of judicial functions who protect citizens' rights in court and other proceedings, is a prerequisite for the safety of society as a whole and for the rule of law - the Chamber emphasized.

They called on all state authorities to take all necessary measures to protect lawyers and other members of the legal professions, and to bring the perpetrators of this criminal offense to justice as soon as possible.
