Admir Gazić new police commissioner of the ZDK MUP

(Patria) - The Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) at today's session appointed Admir Gazić to the position of police commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) for a four-year mandate.

The Government awarded Gazić the rank of General Police Inspector for the duration of his mandate through the appointment decision.

The procedure for selecting the police commissioner was conducted in accordance with amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs, which the ZDK Assembly adopted in May this year, reinstating the provision that candidates for police commissioner must hold the rank of Chief Inspector, as is the case in other cantons.

The selection procedure was carried out by the Independent Board of the ZDK Assembly, chaired by Semir Šut, a former police commissioner, who submitted to Minister of Internal Affairs Benjamin Sinanović a ranked list with the names of three candidates who applied for the competition published in the daily press on July 18 and in the Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH on July 21, namely the names of Admir Gazić, Adis Imamović, and Fahrudin Pušina.

Based on interviews, assessment of qualifications matching the job requirements, and the proposed work plan and program for the mandate duration, the Independent Board awarded the highest number of points to Gazić.

The competition procedure was concluded at a session held on September 7, after the Municipal Court in Zenica lifted the previously imposed security measure against the dismissed police commissioner Rusmir Šišić.

In accordance with the Law on Internal Affairs, Minister Sinanović submitted to the Government a proposal with the names of the two highest-ranked candidates from the list - Gazić and Imamović, and the Government decided to appoint the top-ranked Admir Gazić to this position.

Gazić is a long-serving officer of the Police Administration of the ZDK MUP. He led the Department for Criminal Offenses Against International Law and Blood Crimes and the Criminal Police Department in the Zenica Police Administration, where he was awarded the rank of Independent Inspector, and successfully completed professional training in the United States, Egypt, and several European countries.

The rank of Chief Inspector was awarded to him in 2006, when he was reassigned to the position of Head of the Criminal Police Sector in the ZDK Police Administration.

Two years later, he was appointed Head of the Zenica I Police Administration, a position he held for 13 years, until the beginning of last year when he was dismissed, although he performed the duties successfully.
