Abadžić: Nine years since the death of the author of "Winged Pharmacists", "Green Panorama"...

Nijaz Abadžić, the popular FTV host and publicist who lived for the promotion of ecology, died nine years ago, but his books on treating with bee products and medicinal herbs are just as popular today as they were twenty or more years ago, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

He was born in Brčko in 1935 and died in Sarajevo on January 4, 2006. He professionally engaged in journalism from 1960 and became known for covering ecology and for scientific-popularistic writing.

In his 30-year career, he produced more than 350 television shows and documentaries, more than 2,100 articles, and four books.

Abadžić is also the author of the first agricultural television series in Bosnia and Herzegovina, "Zelena panorama" (Green Panorama) (1973), and the author of the first permanent ecological TV series in the former JRT network, "Živjeti s prirodom" (Living with Nature) (1981).

His series about bees and apitherapy, "Krilati farmaceuti" (Winged Pharmacists) (1976), was translated into seven languages and for it, he received a gold medal from the international organization "Apimondia", reports NAP.
