850 gift packages for 850 children's smiles

The association "Ruku na srce" today, within the project "No child without a gift package", for the fourth year in a row, started distributing New Year's gift packages, which will continue in the coming days through several organized events, reports the Patria News Agency.

After the successes achieved so far, the association's volunteers were further motivated to bring out as many children's smiles as possible this year. Nearly 100 young people worked diligently for the past 4 months, collecting donations, packing gift packages, and preparing a play and creative workshops.

Last year, 450 gift packages were collected, while this year they managed to prepare over 850 gift packages for the youngest, which will be distributed this year to children from socially endangered families in the Sarajevo Canton, children included in the Family Strengthening Program implemented by SOS Children's Villages BiH, first-graders of the "Srednje" Primary School, children from the Association of Multiple Sclerosis Patients of Sarajevo Canton, children from the Ježevac refugee settlement near Živinice, and numerous families who are unable to give their children gift packages and have turned to the Association for help.

Some of the gift packages were already distributed this morning at the premises of the Public Institution "International Center for Children and Youth Novo Sarajevo", with a special play in which fairy tale heroes came to life, after which the children had the opportunity to participate in creative workshops and socialize with Santa Claus. Children up to 14 years of age who received gift packages this morning could not hide their delight.

This year's implementation was supported by numerous fellow citizens as well as media promoting the project. Among others, the greatest gratitude is expressed to the golden sponsors, who greatly enabled reaching the number of 850 gift packages. These are: Energoinvest d.d. Sarajevo - Power Engineering Sector, GS - Machine Factory Travnik d.d., Wholesale Toy Store NIRD d.o.o. Sarajevo, Megamix d.o.o., Albat d.o.o. Energy Systems, Neon Art. Significant support was also provided by kindergartens within the JU Children of Sarajevo and numerous primary and secondary schools, student associations of various faculties in Sarajevo, as well as associations operating in the Sarajevo Canton.

The association "Ruku na srce", guided by the goal of helping socially endangered families, brings together students from all faculties in Sarajevo and beyond, as well as other young people who, despite various obligations, dedicate their time to humanitarian work. They operate under the motto "We know we can't change the world, but sometimes even a little is enough to make someone's world more beautiful".
