8 million KM for new jobs: Fund invites and provides opportunity for employment of persons with disabilities

(Patria) - The Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities of the Federation of BiH has published a
Public Call for the allocation of financial incentives for new employment and self-employment in 2026. A total of 8 million KM has been secured for this purpose. The funds are intended for employers and persons with disabilities, with the aim of creating new and sustainable jobs throughout the Federation of BiH.

The Public Call clearly defines who is eligible for support. Legal entities and other persons who employ a person with a disability degree of 60% or more may apply. The program also includes persons with at least 70% physical impairment, if that impairment leads to reduced work capacity, as well as persons with moderate or mild intellectual disabilities.

Support is also available to persons with disabilities who wish to start their own business. This means that those who start a craft, independent activity, or agricultural production as their main and only occupation are also entitled to the incentive.

"Our goal is to open real opportunities for work and economic independence for persons with disabilities, and to provide employers with a concrete incentive for employment," said the Director of the Fund, Ahmet Baljić.

The amount of financial support is clearly defined. For employment under special conditions, the basic incentive amount is 15,000 KM, and the maximum is 27,000 KM. For employment under general conditions, the basic amount is 18,000 KM, while the maximum amount can reach 32,400 KM.

Employment under special conditions refers to institutions and companies established with the aim of employing persons with disabilities, as well as organizations of persons with disabilities. Self-employment also falls into this category.

Employment under general conditions implies work on the open market, in state institutions, local government, public institutions and enterprises, but also in private companies that are not established exclusively for the employment of persons with disabilities.

The obtained funds can be used for payment of salaries and contributions, workplace adaptation, procurement of equipment and tools, as well as for other costs necessary for the workplace to be stable and long-term sustainable.

"Every new job means a new chance for an individual, but also for society as a whole. This program is an investment in equal opportunities and a stronger, more responsible labor market," Baljić emphasizes.

The Fund invites all interested employers and persons with disabilities who meet the conditions to prepare the necessary documentation and apply within the Public Call. The budget of 8 million KM represents a significant opportunity to turn financial support into concrete jobs, stable business ventures, and visible results already in 2026.

This is an opportunity to turn potential into a job, and support into long-term security. The Public Call is open until April 13, 2026, and applications with complete documentation must be received by the Fund or sent by registered mail no later than that date.
