Doctors at the Emergency Center in Sarajevo had their hands full during Eid al-Fitr - as many as 537 interventions, confirmed dr. Enisa Bećarević for the BH News Agency Patria.
Sarajevans mostly complained of pressure problems, then due to kidney pain, and then due to other health issues.
Dr. Bećarević says that a large number of patients during Eid al-Fitr sought help at the Emergency Center instead of local clinics, hence the large number of interventions.
And, as dr. Bećarević reveals, there were also those who overindulged in Eid baklava, which led to increased blood pressure in some patients, forcing them to seek medical help.
- There weren't many, but we did record such interventions - says dr. Bećarević.
Before Eid al-Fitr itself, Sarajevo doctors issued a warning advising citizens to be careful with food consumption after a month of fasting, and to eat mostly fruit and drink plenty of water in the first days of Eid al-Fitr, writes Patria.
