February 5: Day of Remembrance for Markale

On the occasion of the commemoration of February 5 - Day of Remembrance for all citizens of Sarajevo who perished during the siege of Sarajevo from 1992-1995, on Thursday, February 5, 2015, starting at 10:30 AM, a Joint Commemorative Session of the Parliament of Sarajevo Canton, the City Council of the City of Sarajevo, and the municipal councils of the municipalities of Sarajevo Canton will be held at the National Theatre, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

After the session, at 11:30 AM, a delegation of the City of Sarajevo, consisting of the Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić and the newly elected Chairman of the City Council Suljo Agić, along with representatives of state, federal, cantonal, and municipal levels of government and family members, will pay tribute and lay wreaths at the memorial at the Markale market, where 21 years ago an aggressor's mortar shell killed 68 and wounded 142 of our fellow citizens.
