28 years since the violent death of Željko Ružičić, a journalist who never forgot Prijedor

(Patria) - Today marks 28 years since the violent death of a man who spread hope through his journalistic messages that evil would be defeated.

"Remembering Željko Ružičić who was killed by a Serbian shell on February 2, 1993, in Sarajevo. Remembering his witty, knowledgeable speeches in the News Council of Radio Prijedor and Kozarski vjesnik. Remembering a man, an excellent journalist, a Prijedor native who never forgot his beloved hometown.

During the aggression and genocide against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was a voice of hope, but also defiance, daily transmitting information from besieged Sarajevo, which, like his fellow citizens, he never thought of leaving in the most difficult moments. One of the two Serbian shells fired on February 2, 1993, stopped Željko Ružičić, but justice and truth cannot and will never be stopped or hidden by any bullet, any shell, any aggression and genocide, any evil.

Željko Ružičić remains a constant inspiration to generations who continue the path of struggle for truth, justice, and a culture of remembrance.
