July 20 declared Day of Mourning in FBiH in remembrance of victims in Prijedor municipality

The Federal Government, at today's emergency, telephonically held session, adopted the Decision on declaring July 20, 2014, as the Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in remembrance of the victims in Prijedor municipality, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

On Sunday, July 20, a collective funeral prayer and burial will be held for 284 murdered residents of Prijedor whose remains were exhumed primarily from the Tomasica mass grave.

The Day of Mourning is marked by the mandatory flying of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, or on the flagpole, at the buildings of the FBiH Government and institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the Day of Mourning, cultural and entertainment programs cannot be held in public places in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Media houses in the territory of the Federation of BiH are obliged to adjust their programming content to the Day of Mourning, reports Patria.

The initiative to declare July 20 as a day of mourning in FBiH was launched by a Member of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, Jasmin Duvnjak. He previously announced to the Patria news agency that he would ask the Council of Ministers of BiH to declare July 20 a day of mourning throughout BiH.
