18,000 cakes dumped in landfill ended up for sale, pre-trial detention sought for director

Deputy District Prosecutor Marija Mladenović told Tanjug that the primary prosecutor, after several hours of questioning, requested pre-trial detention for the suspected employees of JKP Čistoća, among whom is the director of that company, reports the Patria News Agency.

According to her, the reason for the motion to impose pre-trial detention is to prevent them from influencing witnesses.

The Basic Court in Kragujevac will decide whether the suspects will be remanded in custody.

Kragujevac police arrested the director of JKP "Čistoća", D.R. (50), and four employees of the company, because approximately 18,000 cakes brought to the landfill for destruction ended up in illegal sales.

The statement from the Kragujevac Police Administration stated that in addition to the director, who is suspected of committing the criminal offense of failure to remove danger, employees S.N. (36), S.S. (45), Lj. J. (55), and Z.K. (42) were arrested on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of abuse of official position.
