July 11 declared Day of Mourning in FBiH

The Government of the Federation of BiH adopted a Decision declaring July 11, 2014 - the Day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide, as the Day of Mourning in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports Patria.

This year marks the 19th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, and around 170 victims will be buried at the Potočari Memorial Center.

Otherwise, the program for commemorating the anniversary will be different compared to previous years. There will be no official speeches by officials; the attendees will be addressed by the Rais al-Ulama of the Islamic Community in BiH, Husein ef. Kavazović.

The Day of Mourning is observed by mandatory flying of the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina at half-mast, i.e., on the flagpole, at the buildings of the Government of FBiH and the institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Media houses in the territory of the Federation of BiH, as well as organizers of cultural-artistic and sports events in the territory of the Federation of BiH, are obliged to adapt their program content to the Day of Mourning.
