Zvjezdan Misimović bids farewell to football

Zvjezdan Misimović, BiH representative and former captain who made 83 appearances, has ended his playing career, German newspaper Bild reported, according to the BiH news agency Patria.

- There were several offers in the past weeks, but none were interesting enough for me to accept - said the 32-year-old player who last season played for Chinese club Guizhou Renhe. Although there were indications that Misimović would play for FK Sarajevo, this will clearly not happen.

One of the brightest periods was playing for German club Wolfsburg, with whom he won the championship in 2009.

From 2003 to 2011, Misimović played 157 Bundesliga matches for Bayern, Bochum, Nuremberg, and Wolfsburg, scoring 37 goals.

There are no concrete plans for the future yet, but one of his wishes is to become a player agent. He is married to Stefania and they have three children.
