Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Dr. Denis Zvizdić received today in Sarajevo the U.S. Ambassador to BiH Maureen E. Cormack, with whom he discussed the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Chairman Zvizdić thanked for the previous assistance of the United States to Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in post-war reconstruction and aid after the catastrophic floods last year. He emphasized that the United States has proven to be a true friend and ally of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He informed Ambassador Cormack about the priorities of the work of the Council of Ministers of BiH. He stressed that the zero priority is the drafting of the Law on the Budget of BiH Institutions and expressed expectations that the draft form will be prepared as early as next week.
Chairman Zvizdić said that the strategic commitment of the Council of Ministers of BiH is the acceleration of Euro-Atlantic integration, and the earliest possible entry into force of the SAA and BiH's entry into MAP. He also highlighted the intention to strengthen cooperation with the entities in drafting a socio-economic reform agenda, given that the implementation of most reform measures will take place at the entity levels. He added that he expects strengthened cooperation and support from the United States in the areas of rule of law and the fight against all types of crime.
Ambassador Cormack said that U.S. support for the Euro-Atlantic integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina is unquestionable. She expressed satisfaction with the previous positive experiences and cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.
