Zvizdić, Bevanda and Šarović held talks with EBRD President

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Dr. Denis Zvizdić, along with his deputies, Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH Vjekoslav Bevanda, and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović, held talks today in Sarajevo with a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development led by EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti.

Zvizdić thanked Chakrabarti and the entire EBRD team, stating that holding the EBRD meeting in Sarajevo represents a great recognition for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of Ministers of BiH announced.

Zvizdić highlighted the fact that EBRD's total investments to date amount to 2.3 billion euros through 160 projects.

President Chakrabarti thanked Zvizdić for the great commitment of the Council of Ministers of BiH in organizing the Conference, as well as for the hospitality, and emphasized that the annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors is an extremely important event for BiH and the region as a whole. He said that the annual EBRD Assembly, which is being held in Sarajevo this year, will be a unique opportunity to present the city and the country as a business destination.

President Chakrabarti expressed readiness to increase the volume of investments in BiH compared to previous years, which is a result of four years of joint work between the EBRD and the Council of Ministers of BiH.

He emphasized that the EBRD is a friend of BiH and placed special emphasis on supporting the development of the private sector, regional and European integration, and improving energy efficiency.

Chairman Zvizdić thanked President Chakrabarti for the EBRD's engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina and said that the result of this cooperation is a large number of implemented, extremely important, infrastructural and other projects significant for the economic recovery and development of BiH.

The 2019 Annual Meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors in Sarajevo is one of the most important events in BiH, with over 3000 participants registered, as well as a large number of businessmen and investors from all over the world.
