OFFICIAL: Amar Osim new coach of Željezničar

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Management Board of FK Željezničar today officially appointed the most trophy-winning coach in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Amar Osim, as head of the professional staff, as the Patria agency announced last Friday, December 28.

Osim is expected to remain in this position for the next three and a half years, confirming the commitment that sports results and titles are a priority for the new management, especially as the club enters the period marking 100 years of its existence.

Amar Osim was born on July 18, 1967, in Sarajevo. He spent his playing career playing for Željezničar and the French teams Saint-Dié and Strasbourg.

He began his coaching career at the Željezničar Youth School, and then took over the first team, with which he won two championship titles and two Bosnia and Herzegovina Cups. He then went to Japan, where he led JEF United, with whom he won the Japanese Cup.

In the 2009/2010 season, he returned to Grbavica and for the next four years led the Blues to winning three titles and two cups of our country. From December 2014 to November 2016, he coached Qatar's Al Kharitiyat.

In total, he led Željezničar in 292 matches, achieving 178 wins, 63 draws, and 51 losses.

In the coming period, Osim will select his professional staff and schedule a squad call-up and the first training session.
