Genocide victims read lesson to Schmidt: We care neither about RS nor Dodik, the EU must finally take a clear stance on BiH

(Patria) - High Representative Christian Schmidt received representatives of associations of genocide victims and witnesses in Sarajevo today.

The meeting with Schmidt was attended by Munira Subašić and Kada Hotić from the Association Movement "Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves", President of the Association of Genocide Victims and Witnesses Murat Tahirović, as well as Ajša Hafizović-Hadžimešić and Šuhra Sinanović.

Discussions were held regarding tensions related to the unconstitutional celebration of RS Day, January 9, and particularly about the concerns of returnee communities who expressed worry for their safety.

"Any form of violence, discrimination, or intimidation against any community in BiH is unacceptable. The High Representative calls on all competent authorities to react swiftly and decisively to ensure the safety and protection of all citizens," the OHR stated after the meeting.

As Patria learns, the guests at the OHR were very sharp today during their conversation with their host, and they clearly conveyed to him what they think about his actions and those of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- We absolutely do not care about either the RS or Milorad Dodik. The whole story boils down to the fact that Dodik received a green light from the European Union to do whatever he wants in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We demand and insist that the EU as a whole take a completely clear stance on Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, to continue the course it had until 2006, which means that its priority should be all rulings of international courts, which are a postulate of the EU's existence. Everything else is empty talk and making up rules that are clear and unambiguous.

The international community, primarily the European Union, must accept the rulings of all international courts that exist within it, namely the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the International Court of Justice, and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

They are the basis for any further talks, for any initiation of anything. And when Europe finally accepts them, then we will resolve everything else much more easily, and then we can talk with the so-called other sides in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region," the representatives of the associations of genocide victims and witnesses conveyed to High Representative Christian Schmidt.
