(Patria) - HŠK Zrinjski defeated Icelandic Breidablik tonight in Mostar in the Europa League qualification match. The score was 6:2 for the "Plemići" (Nobles) who have thus likely written the history of Bosnian football, as they will certainly become the first team in the group stage of a European competition.
The "Plemići" took the lead in the second minute. Tomislav Kiš finished an exceptionally beautiful play for a 1:0 lead.
The "Plemići" did not stop and attacked their rival with all their might. In the 18th minute, Ćuže had a good chance, but shot weakly from the heart of the penalty area.
Two minutes later, Nemanja Bilbija missed the target from six to seven meters, and then in the next action, the inspired Ćuže hit the crossbar.
And then, in the 22nd minute, another explosion in Mostar. After Bilbija's shot, the goalkeeper parried the ball, and Malekinušić scored for 2:0.
They waited another eight minutes for the third goal. Kiš capitalized on a mistake by the visitors and scored for 3:0.
In the 31st minute, the visitors were left with Einarsson, who received a second yellow card, and immediately in the next attack, Nemanja Bilbija headed in a cross from Malekinušić for 4:0.
The unfortunate visiting goalkeeper went for the ball in the net for the fifth time in the 39th minute. Malekinušić scored again for an incredible 5:0.
Zrinjski had another great chance through Ćuže, but the teams went into halftime with a score of 5:0.
They waited until the 56th minute for the sixth goal in the opponent's net. Antonio Ivančić scored with an excellent shot for 6:0.
In the 64th minute, the visitors scored a goal. Ludvikson took advantage of the home team's defense being asleep and beat Marić for 6:1.
The Icelandic champions then had several more dangerous situations, and it was evident that the players of the Mostar club had relaxed considerably at that moment.
Proof of this is the goal in the 74th minute. Eyjolfsson took advantage of the space in the home team's defense and scored for 6:2.
In the 82nd minute, Zrinjski hit the crossbar twice in a few seconds. Čanađija and Ćuže were unlucky, and two great chances for the Mostar club were missed.
There were no further changes to the score by the end of the match. The champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina carries a four-goal advantage into the second leg and is one step away from the greatest success in the history of Bosnian football - qualifying for the group stage of a European competition. Whether it will be the Europa League or the Conference League, we will know in the coming period.
