Zrinjski wins BiH Super Cup after better penalty shootout

(Patria) - The BiH Super Cup winner was decided tonight by penalty kicks after the regular 90 minutes of the Zrinjski - Sarajevo match in Mostar ended with an unpopular 0:0.

The away team started the match better, with Elezi hitting the crossbar in the fourth minute. Zrinjski was very lucky.

The hosts had their first big chance in the 16th minute, but Abramović's weak shot from a good position was an easy catch for the visiting goalkeeper Ivan Banić, writes arenasport.

The visitors then had bad luck, as Cimirot got injured and was replaced by Menalo in the 17th minute.

Sarajevo threatened again in the 22nd minute. Dujmović made a big mistake, and the persistent Menalo took the ball. He shot from an angle on the right side, but the ball went just wide of the goal.

A quieter period of play followed until the 64th minute, when Lagumdžija headed the ball straight at Banić after a corner.

And that was it. The regular 90 minutes ended with a 0:0 score, and the teams proceeded to penalty kicks.

Zrinjski showed stronger nerves and won the trophy for the second year in a row.

The penalty shoot-out's tragic figures for Sarajevo were Bralić and Menalo, whose shots from the penalty spot were saved by Karačić.
