The young (U-21) football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated by Slovenia tonight at Grbavica in a match of the 1st round of the European Championship qualifiers.
The Slovenians celebrated a 2:1 victory, which they achieved after a comeback.
We saw the first excitement in the 9th minute when Madžid Šošić shot over the Slovenian goal.
In the 19th minute, the Dragons were very lucky. First, the ball ‘danced’ in the goalmouth after a cross from the left, and then Sešlar shot inaccurately.
Muharemović was blocked after a set piece in the 23rd minute, and then Ivan Bašić shot beautifully from an angle, but the ball went just wide of the visitors' goal.
The game was played fiercely and aggressively on both sides, but in terms of excitement, a quiet period of play followed in the subsequent minutes.
BiH's last chance in the first half was by Kahvić in the 44th minute. He skillfully found himself in front of the Slovenian goal after a pass from Krdžalić, but in the end, he shot sloppily from an excellent position.
In the final seconds of the first half, Jevšenak missed a colossal chance for the Slovenians.
The Dragons started the second half better and took a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute. Admir Bristrić received the ball from an angle on the left side, then shot, the ball deflected off Ilenič and fooled the visiting goalkeeper, ending up in the net!
In the 62nd minute, Bašić tried from distance, but Turk saved.
Slovenia equalized in the 68th minute, when Tjaš Begić sent the ball into the net after a scramble in the penalty area.
The comeback didn't take long. In the 72nd minute, Omerović tried to clear the ball, it hit Cipot and bounced into the net for a 1:2 score.
Substitute Muhamed Buljubašić tried to equalize with a good shot in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the goal.
After that, Bašić also threatened, but without success.
The score remained 1:2 until the end, and Slovenia secured valuable three points at the start of the qualifiers.
