Dragons suffer first defeat in Nations League

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina women's "A" national team was defeated tonight in Koper by Slovenia with a score of 1:2 in the 5th round match of UEFA Nations League Group B4.

The home team had the first opportunity in the 5th minute through Zala Kuštrin, who hit the post.

After that, the BiH team took the initiative on the field and took the lead in the 19th minute.

Maja Jelčić capitalized on a defensive error by Slovenia, created space for herself to shoot, and sent the ball into the net from about ten meters.

Until the end of the first half, the Slovenians had two attempts to threaten the goal of Jelena Gvozderac, but the score remained unchanged.

In the second half, the home players took the initiative, and Gvozderac made several good saves to protect the net.

However, the Slovenians managed to turn the score around with goals from Kuštrin in the 74th and 77th minutes.

The Dragons thus suffered their first defeat in the UEFA Nations League competition.

Emma Veletanlić made her first appearance for the national team, entering the game in the closing minutes in place of Aida Hadžić.

In the other group match tonight, Belarus will play against the Czech Republic.

On the table, Bosnia and Herzegovina has 8 points, the Czech Republic has 7, Slovenia has 6, and Belarus has 2.

The Dragons will play Belarus in the final round on December 5th at 7 PM at "Bilino polje" in Zenica.
