Dragons to face Poland tonight, Bajević hints at experimentation

(Patria) - For the first time, Bilino Polje will host a match of the BiH national football team with empty stands.

The Dragons will host the Polish team tonight (8:45 PM) at the stadium in Zenica in the second round match of the Nations League.

Confidence in our national team is at its peak after the great point earned in Florence against Italy (1:1), but it is completely clear that Dušan Bajević's charges are not expecting an easy task.

Poland, even without its star player Robert Lewandowski, has enough renowned names, i.e., players with experience in the strongest European leagues. It is also certain that the visitors will be motivated to improve their impression after the loss in Amsterdam (1:0).

True, the Dutch did not decisively defeat them, but they completely cornered the Poles. The poor performance in Friday's match is one of the reasons why coach Jerzy Brzęczek announced changes in the lineup.

"Compared to the match against the Netherlands, I can say that there will be changes in all lines; of course, before the match itself, I will decide which players to replace compared to the first match," said the Polish coach at yesterday's press conference, even emphasizing that he expects changes in the BiH team as well:

"Dušan Bajević has some new players and he will surely try to surprise us."

And indeed, why should the Dragons' coach be in the dark? If the opponent intends to trouble him with a new lineup, it is completely logical that the Prince of Neretva will do the same.

Partly because the match against Poland is the last chance for experimentation before the crucial match, the one in the play-offs against Northern Ireland.

"I think we should give a chance to other players, without underestimating the Polish national team."
